UV Curing System

SPOT LAMP SYSTEM

Dymax UV spot-curing units can be supplied with a wide variety of standard or customized light delivery choices. Lightguide options available from Dymax include various diameters (3 mm, 5 mm, and 8 mm), various lengths (1 meter is standard) to 6 meters, liquid or fiber, and single or multi-furcated configurations.

FLOOD LAMP SYSTEM

A Dymax UV curing system uses moderate- to high-intensity UV/Visible light for the fast curing of UV adhesives, UV coatings, and UV inks. A modular UV curing flood lamp consists of a power supply, reflector housing, and standard 400 Watt metal halide bulb. Shutter assemblies, mounting stands, UV shields, and additional UV curing bulbs are available to create a custom UV curing system.

Consistent line speed, lamp height, and intensity together provide a consistent UV curing process. DYMAX UV curing conveyors eliminate stray UV light despite utilizing some of the highest-intensity UV curing systems on the market.

CONVEYOR SYSTEM

Dymax UV curing conveyor systems offer consistent, fast, and safe UV curing. These ultraviolet conveyors are designed for curing of UV curable adhesives, UV curable coatings, and UV curable inks and can be outfitted with the standard metal halide (longwave UV), mercury (shortwave UV), or visible bulbs.

Consistent line speed, lamp height, and intensity together provide a consistent UV curing process. DYMAX UV curing conveyors eliminate stray UV light despite utilizing some of the highest-intensity UV curing systems on the market.

BlueWave® MX-series multichannel controllers are available in 2- and 4-channel versions, allowing manufacturers to use just one controller to run up to four emitter work stations. Each emitter can be controlled independently of the others or in any combination to produce flood and light bar patterns. Activation can be by foot pedal or through an enhanced PLC and interface. The controllers are compatible with all Dymax MX-series emitters including the BlueWave® MX-150 spot lamp, BlueWave® MX-250 flood lamp, and BlueWave® MX-275 light bar. Interconnect cables are available in 2- or 5-meters lengths, allowing emitters to be stationed further from the controller. Longer cables are available upon request.

Radiometer

Dymax UV and visible radiometers are simple to operate and allow operators to monitor and document a UV/Visible light curing process. A low UV/Visible intensity measurement signals an operator to replace the bulb, reflector, or lightguide. Radiometers can also be used to confirm that operators are properly shielded from UV/Visible exposure. Degradation of curing bulbs, lightguides, and reflectors can decrease intensity, resulting in incomplete cures.

Replacement Bulb

The UV curing bulb is a key component in light-curing spot and flood lamp systems. Dymax UV curing bulbs maximize curing intensity while minimizing intensity degradation over time, resulting in fewer bulb changes as well as lower operating costs. The intensity and spectral output of UV bulbs determines their ability to cure light-curable materials. Metal halide bulbs come standard in Dymax light-curing lamps to match the cure chemistry of most Dymax LCMs.
